Pushkin's tales are a pure diamond in the treasury of Russian classical literature, a book that must surely be in every home where children are growing up. This edition is made especially valuable by the illustrations of Alexey Dmitrievich Reypolsky. Executed in a classical style, they are wonderfully in harmony with the genius poet's text. "What delightful tales these are! Each one is an epic poem!"
