The plot of the Ukrainian folk tale "The Mitten" is similar to the plot of the Russian folk tale "The Little House": an old man went into the forest for firewood; he walked and walked and didn't notice how he lost his mitten. A mouse ran along, saw the mitten, and decided to live in it. Then a frog hopped in, a bunny came running, followed by a fox, then a wolf, a boar, a bear… As always happens in a fairy tale, there was enough room for everyone!..
The book is illustrated by the famous artist Evgeny Rachev. It features drawings from the first and most famous version—the one that is still preserved in art museums around the world today. One of the drawings is being published for the first time.
The book is being released on the 110th anniversary of the artist's birth.
For preschool children.
