Steadfast Tin Soldier (illus. A. Lomaeva)

Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales have been translated into every language and have stood the test of countless editions. Their characters have become constant companions to every childhood.
The Tin Soldier from Andersen's fairy tale of the same name became a symbol of courage and fortitude. Whatever surprises fate had in store for him, he stood firm: rifle on his shoulder, head held high, chest out! And he emerged with honor from every trial. St. Petersburg artist Anton Lomaev ranks Andersen's fairy tales first among the books he enjoyed as a child. He illustrates the stories of the great storyteller with inspiration and inexhaustible imagination. On the pages of this book, not only a multitude of amusing toys live their own lives, but also a whole charming family, whose fairy-tale everyday life is so interesting to watch.
