"The Pond of White Lilies" is the sequel to the novel "An Island in the Sea," beloved by Russian readers, the story of twelve-year-old Steffi, who found herself on an island in Sweden at the beginning of World War II. Now grown up, Steffi receives a scholarship and goes to study in Gothenburg, where she will live at a boarding house with the Soderberg family. Most importantly, she will now be very close to Sven, whom she met that summer! But something is not going right in Steffi's new life, which seems perfectly fine on the surface... "What is happening with my parents? What is true friendship? And true love? What is better - truth or lies?" - all these questions overwhelm her. And the shore of the Pond of White Lilies becomes a place where Steffi can be alone and try to understand herself...
