The cheerful story about Emil from Lönneberga, written by the wonderful Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren and brilliantly retold in Russian by Lillian Lungina, has been loved by adults and children all over the world. This whirlwind of a boy is a terrible mischief-maker; he cannot go a day without getting into trouble. After all, who would think to chase the cat just to see how well it can jump?! Or to put on a soup ladle? Or to set fire to the feather in the pastor's wife's hat? Or to catch his own father in a rat trap and feed the pig drunk on cherries?...
