This non-fiction book tells us about scales: their important role in human life, how they came about, and how they have served people for thousands of years. Young readers will learn with interest that at first people weighed everything using their own hands, then the earliest lever scales were invented, followed by beam scales, and then spring scales. Today, electronic scales are used everywhere, but what surprises await us from scales in the future?
