Andrey Sergeyevich Nekrasov (1907-1987) was a renowned children's writer and author of the famous "Adventures of Captain Vrungel". But his stories about the sailors and fishermen of the Far East, about the beauty of the Yenisei and many other wonderful places in our country deserve no less attention. Everything Nekrasov wrote about, he had seen with his own eyes, and he had seen a great deal - he traveled the coast from Chukotka to Posyet, sailed to the regions of the Far North on various vessels, served as a navigator guiding ships through the Sea of Okhotsk, and plied the waters of the Yenisei many times. He was a sailor, a stoker, a fisherman... What had he not been! "I caught cod in the Barents Sea, panned for gold on the Amur, drilled for oil in Sakhalin, and endured difficult watches by the red-hot furnaces of the ship's boiler room..." Nekrasov recalled. The writer began to record all the most interesting incidents of which he had been a witness or participant in a large notebook. This is how his wonderful stories came to be.

For middle school age.
