Vitya Molotkov's life is very good: his father is the director of a large factory, successfully building a communist future for all his workers; his mother hasn't worked in a long time and collects porcelain figurines; their home is often filled with parties and feasts. Only his spiteful older sister Klara sometimes spoils the picture, but she is mostly preoccupied with her programmer beau.
Everything changes after the family's trip to Morocco—there, the Molotkovs meet a real princess, and their communist ideals begin to falter.
Amazing things happen in the family's life—first funny, then frightening.
But everything will end well.
And Vitya will find answers to very difficult questions: Is it possible to create happiness for everyone? How can you face adversity with dignity? What is the difference between a miracle and good luck? And most importantly: why should people not be divided into friends and strangers—into Reds and Whites?
For middle school students.
