There are lines that stick in your mind all by themselves. Daniil Kharms's poems have such an amazing ability. An eccentric and a dreamer, he seemed woven out of jokes. Completely unusual, unlike anything or anyone, Kharms remained a child at heart, cheerful and mischievous, complex and contradictory, funny and absurd, just like this extraordinary book. For children of primary school age.
Five reasons to buy
The author is a talented Russian writer, recognized by readers worldwide, who can talk about complex adult things in a childlike way.
The poetic text will be understandable even to the youngest readers, and its simple, sonorous rhymes will stay in their memories long after they have read the book.
The story can be read aloud by taking turns—this way, an ordinary bedtime story becomes a fun theatrical performance without any extra effort or hassle.
The book not only immerses readers in the world of classics but also teaches time management: it shows why it is so important to do everything on time and what consequences await people who are accustomed to putting everything off until later.
After reading, it is quite possible that the child will ask to buy a samovar for the home instead of toys—but that is more of a plus than a minus.
