Lasse & Maya Detective Agency

The series of detective stories about Lasse and Maya has been translated into 40 languages and sold in print runs of over 12 million copies. All the books in the series begin with the words "The Case of…" — "The Case of the Masquerade", "The Case of the Mummy", "The Case of the Birthday" and so on. Some of the books are themed around summer holidays, Christmas and New Year.

All the books in the series are set in Vällby — a town with a church in the middle, so small that everyone knows each other. The main characters — classmates Lasse and Maya — have opened their own detective agency there.

This year the series celebrates its 20th anniversary, and in February 2023, a theme park based on the books about Lasse and Maya will open in the Swedish city of Linköping. Here you can visit their detective agency, complete a quest, solve a crime yourself, and visit the famous café in the town of Vällby where the books are set.

Based on the books about Lasse and Maya, there are city quests, plays, computer games, activity books, a wide range of merchandise, and the books have also been adapted for the screen multiple times.
