Edward Lair is an English artist and poet, one of the founders of nonsense poetry, and the author of numerous popular absurdist limericks. He wrote this poem in 1981.
At that time, many famous artists had already worked on the book. But for this edition, Brett Gen created exquisite and detailed illustrations. Through them, she introduces the reader to the wonderful world of the Caribbean Sea and the romance of the relationship between the enamored Owl and the shy Cat.
We see how their relationship develops and how the goldfish, who had been watching them from the water, also sets out in search of true love.
