A poignant story of compassion and cruelty, friendship and betrayal, and the boundless loyalty of which far from every person is capable, and which led the Irish setter Bim after his master as long as Bim was able to walk. The novella, which gave us the opportunity to look at the world around us through the eyes of a dog, was awarded the USSR State Prize and for several decades has not left young or adult readers indifferent.
