The "Improving Handwriting" copybook (for high school students), Level 2, is based on ovals and flourishes. Flourishes, based on semi-ovals, ovals, and loops, help establish the correct letter shape and slant when writing words.
To improve handwriting, the following conditions must be met:
1) forming the oval from the bottom;
2) adopting new letter forms: p, x, zh (their forms are close to the cursive version);
3) all ovals must be closed (v, y, y);
4) letter forms with loops (v, y, y) are discontinued.
The structure of the copybook is clear and accessible: the fainter form needs to be traced over, and the same one written independently next to it. The beginning of the flourishes is highlighted in color. The red color - the pattern - it needs to be continued to the end of the line without lifting the hand (except for the letter b).
At the end of the copybook, samples of words are presented that need to be written independently. The copybook was compiled thanks to the accumulated experience of working with students who had developed incorrect handwriting.
