Porter E. Pollyanna (Girls' Favorite Books)

The life of little Pollyanna is full of difficulties, and when she comes to live with her stern Aunt Polly, they do not become any fewer. But whatever happens, the girl tries to find something good and joyful in everything. Her liveliness and innocence surprise and amuse the people of the small town, while her kindness, trustfulness, and readiness to help prove capable of melting any heart—that of the old bachelor, the cranky, perpetually dissatisfied, ailing Mrs. Snow, and even Aunt Polly, shut in cold solitude.
