Could all the troubles really be behind her? An unexpected meeting with her father gives Vika hope. They take refuge in the outpost of the knights of Tumarya—the very knights of legend. Armor, white cloaks, elegant halls, and painted porcelain… Everything here seems to speak of nobility, honor, and the knights’ readiness to come to her aid. Will the outpost’s gallant inhabitants live up to their first impression?

In any case, their respite in the magnificent castle will be short-lived. Danger strikes again! And once more, she must run. This time, she is in the dubious company of a darkstalker, and it would be better not to know what he is hunting.

Once again, Vika finds herself in the terrifying Tumarya. In the pitch darkness, she encounters those she least expected to see, and then ends up on a new Shard. Here, she will have to try to obtain half of the shattered Heart of the Octarchy at once, learn the shocking truth about Marcus, and an even more incredible truth about her father.
