In this wonderful book you will find descriptions of the most unimaginable and outrageous mischief, because it is hard to find more inventive and disobedient scamps and troublemakers than the Brown children! They have no shortage of imagination, and there seems to be no force that could cope with this army of disobedient boys and girls. But one fine day the terrible Nanny Matilda appears on the Brown family doorstep and their mischievous antics become quite a risky business. For as soon as the terrible nanny bangs her terrible black stick on the floor, real miracles begin to happen! This classic work of children's literature has delighted readers since its first publication in the 1960s. And in 2005, Christianna Brand's stories formed the basis of the extremely popular family comedy "My Nanny Matilda" starring Emma Thompson and Colin Firth.
