Numerous reference books and lists of Russian inventions often fail to mention three-quarters of the remarkable ideas born from Russian inventive minds, while claiming that we invented the airplane (of course not), the bicycle (neither), and the ballistic missile (by no means). This book has two objectives: first, to tell the story of inventions made at different times by our compatriots as objectively as possible, neither downplaying nor exaggerating their achievements; second, to dispel numerous myths and historical fabrications surrounding the history of invention.
