The book "Attention, Doctor!" is neither a fictional narrative nor an encyclopedia. Its author simply aims to point out to the reader the turning points in the history of medicine. The characters of the book — an ordinary Czech family — help him in this. Throughout seven chapters, together with them, we learn what health problems people have faced from ancient times to the present day, and we become acquainted with revolutionary ways of solving them, discovered mostly in the 19th and 20th centuries.
