In compiling the ABC book, the author drew on her 30 years of experience as a speech therapist, allowing for the first time the combination of literacy training with the prevention of writing errors that arise at school age. The ABC book is based on the traditional approach to teaching reading in Russian, complementing the traditional approach with an original method of teaching a child to perceive a letter combination as a single graphic element—a syllable as the unit of reading (and later writing). The ABC book is not intended to be entertaining or amusing; its purpose is to enable the child to master the technique of reading as quickly as possible, which should bring children joy and pleasure as a reward for their efforts. We hope that our children, having mastered reading without particular difficulty, will take up a book as a tool of culture and a source of knowledge. The book is in Russian.
