"The Mango Gods" is the fifth installment in The Beast Detective series. The Badgers of the Far Forest Police are sent on a mission to the African savanna to investigate the kidnapping of a baby from the Elegant Giraffes, a newborn giraffe named Rafik.
The Badgers of the Police are constantly in mortal danger. For the Far Wildwood spares no one, neither strangers nor its own. It is a terrible and dangerous place where cruelty and lawlessness reign, brutal sacrifices are made, and the law of the strong prevails.
But for a brave and honest animal, the Wildwood can also be a place of strength, helping them find themselves and true love. Badger Senior, Badger Junior, and Vulture Griff do not back down from difficulties. They conduct their investigation guided by the just principles that the inhabitants of their native Far Forest live by.
However, solving this complex case does not necessarily mean victory. They must tell the inhabitants of the Wildwood the hard truth that has come to light. But the ruling authorities have no use for the truth.
For younger and middle school children.
