  • Description

“The Bronze Bird” – one of Anatoly Rybakov’s earliest novellas – was written in 1956. It tells of the adventures of a group of young pioneers and is the second part of the author’s famous teenage trilogy. The story takes place near Count Karagaev’s estate, where, according to rumors, a treasure had once been hidden. Misha, Genka, and Slavka will have to set out in search of adventure and solve many mysteries to find it.
The novella is intended for middle school children and is included in the list of “100 Books on the History, Culture, and Literature of the Peoples of the Russian Federation Recommended for Independent Reading by Schoolchildren.” Having withstood numerous editions and a film adaptation, it continues to teach today’s boys and girls very important things: friendship and respect, honesty and justice, fortitude and mutual aid, strength of spirit, and faith in a righteous cause. The text of the work is presented without abridgment, printed in a large font on high-quality paper, and contains color illustrations by A. Sychev.
This medium-format, lightweight edition will make an excellent addition to a school or home library and will not take up much room in a student’s backpack.
