A perfect gift for all lovers of unconventional detective stories and adventures — nine of the earliest Arsène Lupin novellas with retro watercolor illustrations!

Arsène Lupin — a mysterious figure, an elusive thief who keeps the wealthy of France in fear. His signature is unmistakable, because he always covers his tracks and erases his identity, and everyone who says, "There he is, Arsène Lupin," is wrong. For every one of Arsène Lupin's crimes — whether stealing paintings, an incredibly valuable jewel, or even a rare book — is a carefully planned trick, a hoax, a sleight of hand. Everyone is fooled, because most often he hides in plain sight as someone who is always around: one of the unremarkable companions or acquaintances. He appears where he cannot be, and disappears just as unexpectedly.

The book contains nine novellas written by Maurice Leblanc at the very beginning of the 20th century, presenting the first adventures of Arsène Lupin. The first story, "The Arrest of Arsène Lupin," was published in July 1905 in the newspaper Je sais tout. Immediately after its success, the publisher inspired Leblanc to write a sequel — and thus the series of novellas about the gentleman thief was born.

Vincent Mallet gave the main character a new look, while watercolor and ink preserved the mystery. They bring the adventures of the famous thief to life and, together with the beautiful cover, high-quality paper, and detective story, make the book an excellent gift that can be placed in the most prominent spot on the bookshelf immediately after reading.
